Welcome Matte ♥ Tips for Balancing Oily Skin

Heyy everyone, I hope your all doing well. I just thought I'd do a little post about a few products that have really made a difference for my skin in the past few weeks. My skin type is combination-oily, which means that my t-zone (forehead, nose and chin) do tend to get pretty shiny as the day goes on, while my cheeks remain relatively normal in terms of oil production. I have been using some products, both skincare and makeup, that have really made me notice a difference. I don't have to powder or blot nearly as much during the day, which is amazing! What really made me say; "hmm something is different," was when I went to cleanse my face last night and took a good look in the mirror. There was just a small amount of shine around the sides of my nose. This was around 10 pm, when my foundation had been on since 12 pm, and I'd even passed out for a bit. And I hadn't even re-powdered once. I was feeling pretty pleased! .....

1. Boscia Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil.
I've been using this product for about a month now, and it is honestly my favorite makeup cleansing oil. I have previously tried the Dermalogica PreCleanse, as well as the Josie Maran Argan cleansing oil, and the Boscia version leaves my skin feeling better cleansed then either of the former products. This product does leave my skin feeling squeaky clean.  I would say this has definitely helped to balance my skin.

2. Estee Lauder Double Wear Liquid Foundation.
I'm not sure what it is about this product, but it does have a drying effect on the skin. I've been using this constantly for about 3 months now and am very pleased with it's longevity and coverage. If you have combination-oily skin and are looking for a long wear, full coverage foundation give this product a go, it is honestly amazing.

3. Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray
I don't use this every time I wear foundation, but I would say that it does help foundation to set properly and last longer. How do I use it? I shake this very well, spray it several times on a bare face, apply my foundation and then spray it again. I then go on to powder, blush, bronzer etc. It also lasts along time, I've been using the same bottle for months and haven't run out yet. I'm most diligent about using this spray when I have somewhere important to be like an interview, or if I know I have a long day ahead of me.

Duo Mat Powder Foundation
4. Makeup Forever Duo Mat Powder Foundation
I've had this in my makeup collection for a while and just recently rediscovered it and I.am.in.LOVE! This is one of, if not the best mattifying powders I've ever tried. It does exactly what it claims to do, it is a long lasting, oil-free mattifying powder foundation for normal to combination skin types. This has become a staple in my foundation routine, and it goes everywhere with me now, I would never leave it at home. For some reason I can re-powder during the day with this several times and it never looks to heavy or cakey, which is amazing! Will definitely be repurchasing this.

Just remember that everyone's skin functions differently, what works for me may not work for you, but if you do have problems with shine then I would definitely give these products a go. Let me know if any of you have tried these and how you got on, I would love to know what you all think. If you have any questions or comments just leave them below. Thanks so much for reading, have a lovely day
