Interview Makeup Do's & Don'ts ♥

Heyy everyone, I hope your all well. It's been a super busy week for me in regards to interviews, I've had two this past week and another super exciting one coming up on Wednesday. I feel like I'm an interview pro now, I barely even get nervous anymore and I think it's important to smile and be confident during the duration of the interview. I always feel more confident when I'm feeling good about the way I look. I just thought I'd do a fun little post of the rules I go by when getting ready for an interview. I had a bit of a laugh putting this post together, I hope you will too. Enjoy!;

Makeup Don'ts!

Makeup Don't # 1 - Don't go experimenting with new foundations and fake tans on the big day. Go with products you know and have a lot of experience with. When your sitting in an interview trying to impress your potential employer you don't want to be worrying if your face is bright orange or going all patchy. Most employers aren't looking to hire people with complexions similar to those of oompa loompa's (as far as I'm aware).

Makeup Don't # 2- Don't go trying out that new Arabic inspired look you saw on YouTube the other day. Stick to a look your comfortable with. I'm not saying you should only wear neutrals, but I would tone it down just a bit, depending on where your interviewing at. You want them to focus on you and your amazing personality, not how much makeup you have on your face.

Makeup Don't # 3 - Kind of tying in with the tip above, but don't over accentuate your features. If you've never contoured or defined your eyebrows before and your thinking today is the day to try that out, you may want to practice just a bit before the big day so you don't walk out the door looking like this
(Believe me, I've seen it done and it's just not pretty);

Now moving on to the Makeup Do's !

Makeup Do # 1 - Do wear makeup! Wear as much makeup as you want, as long as it's blended well and not to over the top then you'll be fine. I think it's important to make an effort with your appearance, show them that you take pride in how you look and that hiring you will be a positive reflection of the company.

Makeup Do # 2 - I know it's not ideal, but it does happen - if you are seeing spots on the big day then try to draw the focus away from that area. If your spots are located on your forehead or temples, then maybe try wearing a brighter lip and a more toned down eye makeup. In contrast, if your spots are located on the chin and jawline area then really play up your eyes, and wear a more neutral, subtle lip, therefore drawing the attention away from the affected area.

Makeup Do # 3 - Do exfoliate and moisturize well the morning of the interview. Makeup always looks so much better on a well prepped face. Some great natural exfoliants you can probably find in your kitchen are oatmeal and green tea leaves.

At the end of the day, just be yourself. I know that sounds cheesy but that is the most important thing. Speaking for myself, I'm not the most outgoing and loud person out there, I'm not usually the center of attention and I'm fine with that because that's just how I am. I'm not going to walk into an interview and try to be this loud, outgoing character when that's just not me.

It's not just about how you look, it's important to do your research, see if the company has a website you can check out. Most websites will have an 'about us' section, so read that, learn the company's ethics and you'll be fine. If your feeling good about how you look and what you know then you'll do that much better.

Good luck to any job seekers out there, I know it's tough but something is bound to come up!
Hopefully Wednesday will be my lucky day :)

Great post, and to answer your questions to make the "read more" option when you are editing your post you should see towards the middle options for "link" A photo option,a movie mark, and than a picture of a paper cut in half. Click that where ever you want your post to ct in half and continue the "read more" is automatic you do not have to type it yourself

when you edit post, you can make the tabs by clicking edit pages, right next to the option to edit posts, these pages will be your tabs.

Hope that was helpful.
